FAQ
ABOUT ZELMA & THE POSTNATAL PROJECT
ABout Zelma
I completed my Bachelor of Social Work in 2015 and have worked in child protection and foster care. My last social work placements were within the mental health field which I really enjoyed. But it wasn't until I experienced postnatal depression after the birth of my first daughter that I found my calling: perinatal wellness. Initially, I was solely focused on supporting recovery from postnatal depression. I have since expanded to also include birth trauma, breastfeeding, gentle parenting, baby sleep and preventative care.
ABOUT THE POSTNATAL PROJECT
The Postnatal Project started in 2016 as an anonymous blog dedicated to reducing the stigma associated with postnatal depression. From there, as my recovery from postnatal depression progressed, so did my confidence to share my identity. I started to see what The Postnatal Project could become. It's been a labour of love and has gone on to receive global recognition, won 5 awards and has been nominated for countless.
